Regulatory Affairs oversee ship management rules and regulations relating to safety at sea and marine environmental protection. We strive to achieve practical legislation for our vessels and crew and contribute to A.P. Moller – Maersk's overall competitiveness. 
 
Areas of responsibility:

  • Monitor national and international regulatory developments with focus on Denmark, EU and IMO. 
  • Coordinate APMM's views in the rule-making process and when necessary, the views of other APM entities in order to align views.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on the domestic and international regulatory scene.
  • Represent APMM in relevant international meetings. 
  • Regulatory Affairs will typically participate in international meetings (IMO) as part of a national delegation or an industry delegation.
  • Provide advice on policy and procedure to other APM entities.
  • Deliver briefings and regulatory updates on key legislation (e.g. MARPOL and SOLAS) to other APM entities.
  • Maintain a database of current and future legislation and mandatory industry requirements.
  • Maintain contact with key units based in other countries with similar scope to APMM to coordinate views. 
  • Regulatory Affairs have access to local authorities in various countries, all of which are members of the IMO.
  • Offer advice and assistance to APMM Top Management.
