The Safmarine Sahara has 3 cargo holds with hydraulic operated hatch covers and is able to carry a mix of cargoes including containers, heavy cargo and grain. Furthermore the vessel is equipped with 3 cargo cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 80 tonnes and possiblity of team beam operation for lifting of heavy cargoes. After delivery the vessel is expected to call a number of south east asian ports for taking cargo before heading for Durban in South Africa.
