Maersk Sandra (STX S1410) was delivered on 15.08.2011 at 20:51 local Korean time. She is the second vessel out of four in a series of 320,000 dwt Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC).

Maersk Sandra is 332.0 m long and with 60.0 m in width she is the beamiest vessel in the entire APMM fleet of ships.

The depth of the hull is 30.5 m and the maximum draught 22.6 m. She has 15 cargo tanks and 2 slop tanks with a total cargo capacity of 355,000 m3. With a MAN 6S90ME-C8 main engine delivering 29,340 kW at 76 RPM she has a service speed of 16.2 knots. At 15 knots the fuel consumption will be 94 ton/day including the reduction achieved by the Waste Heat Recovery

The innovative Nadiro life boat drop-in ball release system developed by APMM is used for the life boats.

Her maiden voyage is expected to go to the Arabian Gulf to load crude oil after taking stores in Singapore.
